#Myshoplife24 Instagram Challenge

We were super excited to take part in Pencil Me In's #myshoplife Instagram Challenge this year and wanted to keep a record of our posts in our blog in case anyone missed them - it's a great way to find out more about who we are and what we do!

#MyShopLife24 isn’t just any ol’ hashtag; it’s an 8 day challenge celebrating the hustle and heart behind small businesses. It’s like getting an exclusive backstage pass to your favorite shop owners’ lives. From the first coffee sip to the last package shipped, it's all about sharing the highs, lows, and real-lfe moments of running a business.

Who is Pencil Me In?

Shoutout to the amazing Pencil Me In for making #MyShopLife24 possible. The mastermind behind the hashtag is Sarah Holmes, the founder of Pencil Me In, an independent stationery shop based in Elgin.

Day 1 - Shopfront

We are Hell Yeah, a vegan eco-minded gift shop in Shawlands, Glasgow, founded in 2018 by Zoe.

We are all about championing indie businesses and helping you find products that are a little bit different.

We went fully vegan in 2023. We wanted to create a safe space, and take the guesswork out of shopping. Nothing on our shelves contains animal produce.

We have big plans for the future. It's great to have you along on the journey!

Day 2 - Shop Tour

Day 3 - How to shop

Of course you know that you can visit us in person to shop, but for those of you out there who aren't as fortunate to live close by, do not fret, you can shop almost everything we stock in store online. You can also get free shipping over £30 online as well.

Lastly, click and collect! Yes, I'm sure not many of you are aware but we have click and collect available as well if there is something you see and want to get your hands on. You can usually pick up within 24 hours.

Day 4 - Best Seller

We very rarely give credit to our best seller in store but today we are making a change, our bestselling product in store is CARDS!

Yes, that's right, a little bit of folded card is our bestseller and we think rightfully so! These small pieces of art can offer a celebration for anything. We love cards with colour, cards with unique messages and cards to celebrate all!

Day 5 - Window Display

Here is our founder Zoe proudly showing off our current window display. 

Of course we're always changing it up but our goal is always to give you all the colour, highlight some of our wonderful products and to entice you all to come shop with us. Has it worked?

Day 6 - Throwback Thursday

Here is Zoe back in 2018 when we first opened our doors in Shawlands.

Fast forward to now - we weathered a global pandemic and the shop is thriving.

Day 7 - Day in the Life

Did you know that there are actually 3 of us that work in the shop? Yes, us three shopkeepers keep the shop looking good and love chatting to you all while the big boss Zoe spies on us from the camera (jokes, she doesn't, we don't think!)

We all have specific roles as well as running the shop. Emma keeps the website up to date and perfect, Becca is the mastermind behind our beautiful displays, Ruth does all the social media and Zoe is always behind the scenes bringing you lovely products. And Rosie (the dog) does nothing but we love her for it!

Day 8 - Shelfie

We did it! We have reached the end of My Shop Life. Here are a couple of shelfies as it was hard to pick only one.
